Line Cook Job Description
It is the Line Cook's role to be responsible for the daily preparation of food items in the grill, fry and / or other areas of the kitchen. In addition, this is a team position. The line consists of 3 to 5 crewmembers working side-by-side in a very demanding environment. A Line cook must be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure. erform other duties and responsibilities as requested by other Team Leaders and / or Managers at any time.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
- Understand and practice all LFCR policies, procedures, and regulations;
- To act as a role model to co-workers by displaying a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity;
- To be the best Teammate in a Teamwork environment. Always go out of your way to help your co-workers;
- Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner;
- Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served;
- Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines;
- Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant;
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes;
- Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift;
- Handles, stores, and rotates all food items properly;
- Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills;
- Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed;
- Full understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in station;
- Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas;
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by other Team Leaders and / or Manager at any time;
