LEAD DENTAL ASSISTANT

Jericho Road Community Health Center is actively seeking a Lead Dental Assistant . This position is full-time, within the Dental Department, working at our 1021 Broadway location.

Responsibilities :

• Assist a practicing dentist at their chair during examination and treatment of patients, including operative and surgical cases
• Sterilize dental instruments and tools
• Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
• Regularly and consistently meet quality and patient care standards established by management
• Provided fantastic customer service while performing exceptional patient care.
• Oversee sterilization of dental instruments and tools
• Maintain inventory, and ordering supplies needed to provide patient care
• Performs additional duties as necessary
• Demonstrate proficiency in taking patients dental health histories and vital signs, as well as providing premium patient care
• Educate and provided patient care in a fast-paced dental office
• Communicate with the Dental Director regarding proposed changes, developments, and opportunities affecting the dental program
• Lead dental assistant team to provide excellent patient care.
• Relied upon to organize, sanitize and maintain patient care areas.
• Assist the Doctor in patient care, and laboratory duties.
• Performing documentation and establishing and maintaining patients history in EMR (Medent) system
• Monthly auditing of inventory supply to replenish and order as needed
• Verify appointments and direct patients to proper clinical or administrative area
• Schedule appointments for patients in person or on the telephone
• Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls
• Prepare letters, information packets, other correspondences as needed
• Attend trainings and educational opportunities to remain current in best dental assistant practices
• Ensure that the clinical staff is compliant with HIPPA guidelines and take corrective action with the support of management if necessary
• Ensure that the clinical staff is following OSHA regulations and safety requirements

Qualifications :

Rate : $19.00-$22.00 an hour. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
