Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide supportive rehabilitative care within a skilled nursing environment. The PTA will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, strength, and independence.
Responsibilities :
- Carry out physical therapy treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility interventions.
- Document treatment sessions, observations, and patient progress according to facility and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate patient updates, concerns, and improvements to the Physical Therapist and care team.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safe mobility techniques, and assistive strategies.
- Maintain treatment equipment and ensure a clean, safe therapy environment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to support comprehensive patient care.
- Modify treatment activities based on patient tolerance and clinical guidance.
- Support discharge planning by reporting functional gains and treatment outcomes.
- Follow all facility, state, and federal regulations governing therapy services.
Qualifications :
Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Maryland (or eligibility prior to start).Graduate of an accredited PTA program.Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings preferred.Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.Ability to follow clinical direction and provide compassionate, quality care.
