About the Position

LocumJobsOnline is working with Lancesoft Inc to find a qualified Hematology and Oncology NP in Maryland!

A well-established oncology practice in Maryland is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hematology / Oncology Physician to provide locum tenens coverage in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role offers a balanced schedule, competitive rates, and support from a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Position Details :

Outpatient clinic : 3–5 days per week, 8 hours / day

Inpatient on-call coverage : 7 consecutive 24-hour shifts per month (on call while in clinic and hospital visits as needed)

Call ratio : 1 : 4

Schedule Options :

Option 1 : M–W–F 8 hours / day + 7 consecutive 24-hour call shifts per month

Option 2 : M–F 8 hours / day + 7 consecutive 24-hour call shifts per month

Patient Volume :

Outpatient : ≤10 patients / day (primarily chronic management)

Inpatient : ≤2 patients / day

Patient population : Adult & Geriatric (25% Hematology, 75% Oncology)

Many Spanish-speaking patients; interpreters available

Support Staff : Patient navigator, social worker, medical assistant, and practice manager

Team : 0.5 FTE Hematology / Oncology physician, 1.0 FTE breast surgeon, 1.0 FTE surgical oncologist, and 2.0 FTE radiation oncologists

EMR : EPIC

Infusion Center : Chemotherapy administered offsite, 2 miles from clinic

Required Procedures & Duties :

Intracavitary / intrapleural / intraperitoneal chemotherapy

Intrathecal chemotherapy

Fine-needle aspiration / biopsy

Management of VAD / CV catheters

Participation in tumor board

Blood bank duties

Ordering tests, imaging, and prescriptions

Dates of Coverage :

Start : 8 / 11 / 2025 (or as soon as credentialed)

Duration : Ongoing until permanent hire is made

Estimated credentialing : ~3 months (emergency privileges possible after initial application completion)

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology / Oncology

Active Maryland medical license, DEA, and CDS at time of submission

ACLS or BLS (required for privileges)

Note in submission if seeking 3 or 5 clinic days / week and travel origin
