About the Position

We are looking for an Autoline Technician to join our growing team. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager. This individual will be responsible for performing duties related to the installation, programming, inspection, testing, repair, and preventative maintenance of Autoline(s) and yard color machines. This may include, but is not limited to, electronic control equipment, air cylinders / valves, drives (VFD), sensors, motors / gearboxes, conveyors, etc. This position requires flexibility with hours, as hours of operation are based on product demand. This position will not include overnight work but will require some Saturday work.

The right individual must be self-motivated, a strong collaborator / communicator, able to think creatively, and to work with others to find solutions, drive production, and produce quality results. This position requires someone who can work with autonomy.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the line operator with troubleshooting and analysis to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency.
• Perform duties related to the installation, programming, inspection, testing, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain the work area in a clean, orderly condition, including securing tools and equipment at the end of the workday.
• Performs line reviews, troubleshoots, and ensures necessary programming and calibration changes are made to ensure proper operation.
• Perform an end-of-day inspection of jaw liners and pulley bearings of the line.
• Perform visual inspections, predictive and preventative maintenance of electrically controlled and mechanical equipment related to air valves, air cylinders, drives (VFD) sensors, motors, gearboxes, pulleys, bearings, etc.
• Provide awareness of operational reliability and issues related to machine performance.
• Occasionally work with on-site help and / or OEMs to troubleshoot machinery performance issues.
• Have a clear understanding of 24VDC and AC voltages up to 480VAC.
• Read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics.
• Monitor equipment parts inventory, order, and receive as needed.
• Able to work inside and outside environments, complete with the dust and dirt of a landscape manufacturing setting.
• Meet critical deadlines and communicate issues, problems, or concerns promptly in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Provide needed instruction and demonstrate how to perform specific work tasks to line operators related to machine operation.
• Perform other duties as required.
