Job Title : Oracle Cloud Data Engineer

Location : Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid)

Duration : Months

Role Summary :

We are seeking a hands-on Technology Lead with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data services and Power BI dashboard / report development. This role combines technical leadership with active development responsibilities, requiring a strong foundation in data engineering, cloud architecture, and business intelligence. Experience in the utility industry is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Engineering & Architecture

  • Design and implement scalable, secure data pipelines using OCI services such as :

o OCI Data Integration, OCI Data Flow, OCI Streaming

o Autonomous Data Warehouse, Oracle Exadata, Object Storage

  • Apply Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for data lakehouse implementations.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance using OCI Data Catalog, GoldenGate, and Data Safe.
  • Perform hands-on development, testing, and deployment of data engineering solutions.

    • Business Intelligence & Reporting

  • Lead the design and development of Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations and KPIs.
  • Build optimized data models, DAX measures, and implement row-level security.
  • Maintain and enhance existing reports and dashboards based on evolving business needs.

    • Integration Patterns

  • Implement inbound integration patterns using APIs, file-based ingestion, and real-time streaming.
  • Develop outbound integration patterns for data sharing with external systems and partners.
  • Utilize Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for seamless application connectivity.

    • Audit, Balance, and Control (ABC) Framework

  • Design and implement ABC frameworks to ensure :

    • o Audit : Full traceability of data movements and transformations.

    o Balance : Reconciliation of data across systems.

    o Control : Data validation, exception handling, and monitoring using OCI Monitoring and Alarms.

    Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and BI developers.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and IT teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Drive agile delivery practices and participate in sprint ceremonies.

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • years of experience in data engineering and business intelligence.
  • years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) data services.
  • Proven expertise in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, PL / SQL, Python, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Being hands-on is a must – this role requires active involvement in design, development, and troubleshooting.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in the utility industry, especially in areas like smart metering, grid analytics, and regulatory reporting.
  • Familiarity with Power BI / Report Building, Data Modelling for Analytical and Operational Dashboards
  • Knowledge of OCI Cloud – Data Services, Oracle Data Integration Service, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Fusion Data Intelligence, and machine learning integration.
  • SCRUM Master or Agile certification.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
