Job Title : Seasonal Snow Removal Operator

Currently offering a $1000 signing and retention incentive. To operate snow removal equipment and perform general labor involving snow removal on roads, ramps, parking lots, sidewalks, and around buildings.

Major Responsibilities

  • Operate walk-behind snow thrower and ice melter equipment.
  • Operate snow plows, snow brooms, snow blower, and small tractors.
  • Use hand tools to clear snow and ice.
  • Provide aid and guidance to the public.
  • Assist crew with maintenance functions.
  • Observe all safety rules and report any job related problems, accidents and / or injuries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience :

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years' experience operating utility tractors or similar small equipment.
  • Valid state driver license and an excellent driving record.

    • Knowledge / Skills :

  • Must have poise and the ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
  • Must be able to operate job-related equipment and capable of being trained to operate specialized equipment.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Job functions require sitting and standing for extended periods; walking, stooping, reaching, and bending frequently; and kneeling, lifting, carrying, and climbing occasionally. Must be able to traverse rough terrain, climb ladders, and crawl through small spaces.
  • Extensive wrist and hand movements required for use of tools and equipment.
  • Requires distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to continuously exchange information through listening and talking with supervisors, coworkers, and other individuals required.

    • Security / Safety :

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport security badge as a condition of employment.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.

    WORKING CONTACTS WITH OTHERS (INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL) :

  • Contact with co-workers, tenants, and the general public.

    • WORKING CONDITIONS, TRAVEL, ENVIRONMENT AND POTENTIAL HAZARDS :

  • Travel in and around airport. Exposure to equipment noise, vibration and other hazards in the mechanical shop and on the street side, including exposure to petroleum products, fumes, airborne particles, and other chemicals. Also exposed to extreme weather conditions including snow, ice, cold, and rain. Hearing protection and safety glasses provided and required for some tasks.
