Sheet Metal CNC Operator / Programmer

Job Overview :

We are seeking an experienced CNC Sheet Metal Programmer to create and optimize programs for punch presses, lasers, and press brakes. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure parts are manufactured accurately and efficiently, meeting production timelines and quality standards.

Position Details : Full-time position

Shift : 1 : 00 PM – 9 : 30 PM

Hourly Rate : $25.00 – $33.00 per hour

Responsibilities :

Read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.

Generate CNC code from CAD files for punching and bending operations.

Optimize setups and processes to reduce production time.

Maintain and manage tooling for part programs.

Create setup sheets and maintain program documentation.

Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Ensure all part files are updated and maintained at the latest revision level.

Collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges.

Requirements :

Proficient with CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

Experience with CNC programming for punch presses and press brakes.

Knowledge of punch and brake tooling, K factors, and bend allowances.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.

Strong understanding of quality standards and shop math, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and geometry.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining issues.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum 5 years of sheet metal experience; programming experience preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent required; engineering degree is a plus.
