Controller

As Controller, you will play a critical role in supporting our clients’ District mission to deliver reliable, cost-effective water to its landowner while protecting and enhancing vital water rights. This role partners closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors, overseeing financial reporting, audits, and internal controls while proactively managing risk and ensuring compliance with public-sector accounting standards. Description -Directs budgets and cost controls, financial analysis, accounting practices and reporting -Collects, analyzes, and interprets financial data and recommends changes to improve operations and financial performance -Maintains the general ledgers for accuracy and reporting -Oversee and supervise accounting staff - Fund accounting, water accounting; scheduling, deliveries, balances, billing, receivables and collections -Policy development and -Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual reports, forecasts, budgets and strategic planning -Participate in board meeting communicating and responding to fiscal landscape -Audit preparation and participation -Participate in development and maintenance of the technological infrastructure Requirements -8-10 years of hands-on financial and operational cost control with strong customer service background experience, preferably in a public agency or non-profit organization -4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required; CMA or CPA preferred -Strong knowledge of internal controls and GAAP -Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook required -Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills -Strong knowledge of IT systems, accounting software and use of analytical tools, Sage 300 experience is a plus -Solution oriented with ability to resolve issues with diplomacy -Ad hoc projects as required To Apply Send your resume in MS Word format to Sheri Wright, sheriw@denham.net or call (559) 222.5284 if you have any questions.
