Automotive Equipment Operator I

$18.21 to $20.03 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performs experienced service work operating light automotive vehicles or equipment and performing routine automotive service and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS: Six (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of light automotive vehicles and/or Public Works equipment used to maintain roads, drainage systems, sidewalks, and right-of-way maintenance. Additional qualifying education and/or experience be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License and maintain said license during the term of employment. This is heavy physical work that involves exposure to dirt, dust, noise, moving machinery, working in and around traffic, and extreme weather conditions. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
