Role Overview

As our Staff Database Software Engineer for Coupang , you will be responsible for designing and developing our advertising platform to support Coupang's fast business growth.

Coupang is investing in building a world-class Advertising business where we run relevant ads across our website and Mobile App. We are building the next generation of products and services to fuel Coupang ad business's future growth by providing self-service advertising capabilities to our Sellers and Suppliers. We are looking for passionate software engineers to build the big data pipeline and highly scalable online systems to power our advertisement products. You will be working on search, recommendation, and machine learning technologies and systems to power and enhance our advertisement products. You are responsible for developing low latency, highly available, large-scale services and systems and building APIs for programmatic integrations.

What You Will Do

• Design, implement, and maintain automated infrastructure to ensure consistency and scalability.
• Coding and developing the next generation of Database automation and infrastructure as code.
• Set up monitoring and logging systems to proactively detect and address potential issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Manage hundreds of Aurora / MySQL, DynamoDB, and Mongo / DocumentDB databases, including tuning for maximum performance, backups, disaster recovery strategies, and their active / passive counterparts in AWS.
• Migrate Aurora MySQL to NewSQL
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application team developers, infrastructure teams, TPM's to improve the overall database processes.
• Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues and participating in on-call rotations.

Pay & Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of living across several US geographic markets. At Coupang, your base pay is one part of your total compensation. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,000 / year in our lowest geographic market to $297,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
