  • Job Title : ICU / IMCU Float Registered Nurse (RN)\n
  • Location : Munster, Indiana (46321) – Northwest Indiana healthcare jobs\n
  • Assignment Type : Travel Nursing Contract\n
  • Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : January 5, 2026 – End : April 6, 2026)\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay : $2070 - $2120\n
  • Facility Setting : ICU / IMCU Float Pool\n
  • Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Patient Ratios : 1 : 2 (critical care nursing)\n
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend\n
  • Orientation : 24 hours\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active Indiana or Compact State RN license (required for Indiana nursing jobs)\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or IMCU nursing experience\n
  • ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred\n
  • Experience with EPIC charting system and Omnicell required\n
  • Ability to float between ICU and IMCU units\n
  • COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical exemptions only)\n
  • First-time travel nurses welcome to apply\n
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred\n
  • Maximum 5 days requested time off per contract (1 holiday max)\n
  • Must pass EKG Strip and Medication tests on first day (study guides provided; one remediation allowed, 80%+ required to pass)\n
  • Return staff policy : former permanent employees must wait 1 year to return as a traveler\n

    • \n\nICU / IMCU Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in ICU and IMCU settings\n
  • Float between ICU and IMCU units based on patient census and acuity\n
  • Manage patient ratios of 1 : 2 for optimal critical care\n
  • Administer emergency medications and blood products\n
  • Perform arterial and central line management\n
  • Care for ventilated patients and those requiring BiPAP / CPAP\n
  • Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips\n
  • Assist with neuro and cardiac patient management, including CVA / acute stroke protocols\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)\n
  • Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic medical records\n
  • Participate in orientation and complete all required modules\n
