CMM Programmer | DeWitt, MI

Salary Range : $62,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across DeWitt seeking CMM Programmers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and debug CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and in-process measurements.
  • Analyze measurement data, identify discrepancies, and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Select appropriate probes, fixtures, and measurement strategies for various part geometries.
  • Collaborate with quality engineers and production teams to resolve measurement issues and improve processes.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing CMM programs for efficiency and accuracy.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in CMM programming within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
  • Strong understanding and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering blueprints, CAD models, and specifications.
  • Experience with various CMM hardware and probe systems.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and inspection methodologies.
  • Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., optical comparators, vision systems, laser trackers).
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling for fixture design or part analysis.
  • Strong understanding and application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience related to inspection processes.
