Job Summary:

The College of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly Adjunct Clinical successful candidate will:

• Teach and/or supervise students in clinical specialty areas (Medical-Surgical Pediatric Obstetrics/ Gynecology Mental/Behavioral Health and Community Health Nursing).
• Clinical teaching/supervision may include:
• Orienting students to the patient care unit.
• Assuring adherence to hospital/agency policies and procedures including those for patient records and documentation systems.
• Conducting clinical pre- and post- conferences with students to the specific roles and responsibilities;
• Assigning students to patients.
• Review clinical objectives and criteria with students.
• Assign students to interpersonal case presentation.
• Provide and guide student as it related to College of Nursing clinical policies;
• Evaluate students clinical performance and submit these to the Clinical Coordinator; communicate with Clinical Coordinator Program Directors and Executive Vice Dean.

Required Qualifications:

• Masters Degree.
• New York State Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner Licensure.
• 2 to 4 years of continuous clinical nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical Undergraduate and Graduate level teaching experience.
