Overview :
We are currently hiring for an Entry Level Structural Engineer. This could also be an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer or Civil Engineer who has an interest in this work.
Description :
The Structural Engineer position provides technical oversight for various structural and mechanical systems on piers. The Structural Engineer will be required to develop a cohesive working relationship with system operators and maintenance personnel.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within assigned system(s).
- Provide technical direction to maintenance and project teams to support routine and non-routine work.
- Provide engineering resolutions for system problems / configuration changes.
- Produce and / or oversee the development of technical documentation that govern the system design, configuration, and operation.
- Develop a long range strategic plan for improvements to assigned utility system(s).
- Participate in the development of planned maintenance requirements.
- Support resolution of unplanned events.
- Develop and maintain critical system metrics.
- Participate in project design and implementation process for system related projects.
- Oversee project / system testing to ensure system meets technical requirements and operates at peak performance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of a pier maintenance and inspection certification program with key stakeholders
Qualifications :
US Citizenship.BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.Willingness to learn.Team player.Additional Information :

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00 / hr.
