Privacy Program Manager
Grant Thornton is seeking a Privacy Program Manager to join the team in Chicago, IL. The Privacy Program Manager will report directly to the firm's Privacy Leader and will work closely with the legal team, technology, and various other functional group leaders. This role sits in the office of the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. The Privacy Program Manager will be responsible for the successful operation, assessment, and continuous improvement of Grant Thornton's privacy compliance practices. The Privacy Program Manager will help improve the maturity of Grant Thornton's privacy program by operationalizing policies and processes and tools needed to enable the firm to identify and appropriately manage privacy risks.
Responsibilities include :
- Support day-to-day management of privacy programs with support from colleagues in Grant Thornton's privacy teams.
- Manage ISO 27701 compliance activities including documentation, internal compliance assessments, and audit participation globally.
- Assist in development and directly responsible for tracking privacy program key performance indicators globally.
- Provide project management and metrics reporting assistance for global privacy program activities.
- Manage Grant Thornton policies globally including recommendations for modifications, communications on changes, and monitoring for compliance.
- Manage development and maintenance of global standard operating procedures, liaising with relevant Grant Thornton entities to assist and ensure compliance.
- Operationalize and manage internal controls related to privacy management frameworks.
- Assist with managing and implementing short and long-term initiatives for the continuous improvement of Grant Thornton's privacy program against identified maturity goals.
- Assist in monitoring privacy laws and developments.
- Assist Sr. Privacy Director with merger and acquisition activities.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Minimum 4-6 years' experience as a privacy professional with global integration, planning, reporting, and management experience.Substantial experience using privacy management frameworks to demonstrate compliance with privacy requirements and assessing the effectiveness of privacy safeguards against framework requirements.Knowledge of fair information practice and data ethics principles.Ability to plan and implement changes impacting the business as a result of evolving privacy requirements.Knowledge of privacy management tools and experience including One Trust and Radar First.Excellent writing and editing skills are mandatory.Excellent power point and excel skills.Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM); Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) certifications are a plus.Ability to exercise good judgement and balance risks in ambiguous and complex situations.Limited travel as needed.The base salary range for this position in the firm's Chicago, IL office is between $120,000 and $180,000.
