As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you'll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to ensuring our clients can provide uninterrupted services. You will perform a range of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, based in Jackson, MS. Your contributions will be vital to our program's success through effective preventive maintenance, establishing and upholding efficient sampling procedures, and providing solutions to complex challenges that may arise. You will diagnose operational issues, adjust process controls, direct, and undertake necessary corrective actions. Additionally, you will prepare reports, collect samples, conduct laboratory testing, determine chemical flow rates, maintain shift logs, and perform other essential duties. Most importantly, you will take proactive measures to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of yourself and your team.

  • Qualifications :
  • Must possess at minimum a State of Mississippi Class 2 Wastewater certification.
  • Experience with sound safety principles and practices.
  • Proficient in computer operations with the ability to create spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into a maintenance management system.
  • Valid driver's license is required.

Ideally, you'll also possess :

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used in the general operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance practices; safe work practices; biological and chemical sewage analysis principles and methods; and the implications of industrial waste in water / wastewater treatment processes.
  • Familiarity with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems, as well as the ability to operate plant PLCs and SCADA systems.
