We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to assist with critical year-end accounting tasks during a contract position in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This role requires expertise in financial processes such as year-end close, audit preparation, and handling fixed assets and leases. The position offers an excellent opportunity to provide essential support while contributing to the smooth operation of accounting functions.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries to maintain financial records.
- Manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper reconciliation.
- Execute year-end closing procedures to finalize financial statements.
- Support audit preparation by gathering and organizing required documentation.
- Oversee tasks related to fixed asset management and lease accounting.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist with resolving discrepancies and maintaining compliance with accounting standards.
- Provide on-site support during the initial phase and as needed thereafter.
- Ensure financial data integrity through thorough analysis and review.
- Proven experience in accounting roles with a focus on year-end processes.
- Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger management.
- Familiarity with audit preparation and compliance procedures.
- Hands-on experience with fixed asset accounting and lease management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on-site during the initial week and part-time thereafter.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
