Job Title : Respiratory Therapist (Day Shift)

Location : Syracuse NY

Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift Type : Day Shift (7 : 00 AM 7 : 00 PM 3x12-hour shifts 36 hours / week)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist for a day shift position in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will bring solid clinical expertise strong patient care skills and experience handling both adult and pediatric cases in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy to patients.

Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation.

Assist physicians in maintaining and adjusting continuous ventilation systems.

Perform pulmonary function testing and arterial blood gas sampling.

Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when necessary.

Accurately document all therapy assessments and patient responses.

Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.

Perform all patient care functions appropriate for the acute care setting with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

Education : Associates Degree (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy.

Licensure : Active New York State Respiratory Therapist License / Registration required.

Experience : Minimum 2 years of recent acute care clinical experience post-degree.

Certifications : BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.

Skills : Strong assessment technical and communication skills.

Must successfully complete pre-employment health screening background check and drug testing.

Preferences

Pediatric experience preferred.

Only candidates located outside a 100-mile radius will be considered.

Block scheduling not available.

Travelers cannot hold dual assignments concurrently.

Hours : 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts)

Contract Length : 13 weeks with potential for extension.
