Special Education Teacher - Charleston, SC

A special education teaching opportunity is available in Charleston, SC, focusing on providing support to students with emotional disabilities in an elementary school setting. Worksites:

• College Park Elementary: Self-Contained Emotional Disabilities (K-5)
• Cane Bay Elementary: Resource (K-5)
  Schedule: 35 hours per week
  Employment Type: Contract

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) License
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities
• Experience working with students in elementary grades, preferably in emotional disabilities or special education settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of students with emotional disabilities
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student growth and success
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and behavior
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment addressing social and emotional growth
