[job_card.job_description]ED Volume : 52,000 ED Beds : 43 Internal waiting room ED Admission Rate : 24% EMR : Epic (Fall 2023) Brand new ED facility opened in June 2023 24 / 7 / 365 XR, CT, US All new state-of-the-art equipment for the ED Pediatrics : 13% of volume, with UH RBC Pediatric EM telehealth consultations available RBC Pediatric EM physicians coming January 2024 Standardized Pediatric Broselow crash cart for pediatric resuscitations Accredited Chest Pain and Stroke Center Accessible social work support Utilization management support 24 / 7 Adult psychiatry evaluations and placement managed by 24 / 7 UH telehealth Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) program is available Glidescope, Ambuscope, and standardized difficult airway carts for airway management Standardized Pediatric Broselow crash cart for pediatric resuscitations Attending physician backup for EM APPs available in person 24 / 7 Residents rotate in the ED UH Ahuja Medical Center is considered the "Crown Jewel" of the UH system Phase Two of expansion was completed in June 2023 and includes : Men's and women's health centers (including a labor & delivery unit) New ED
As an Associate ED Medical Director at UHCA, you will be responsible for collaborating with the ED Medical Director, hospital, and nursing leadership while offering support to your physician staff. Not only will you serve as a leader within the emergency department, you will also serve as a leader within the organization.
With UHCA, you will be part of a team unique in today's industry. UHCA physicians enjoy the security and resources of a large, national group without sacrificing the advantages typically found in local EM groups.
Additional Details
- Oversee the operations of the ED in collaboration with the ED Medical Director, nursing leadership and hospital administration
- Participate in Quality Assurance for the department
- Represent the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff

EM physicians and APPs do not enter any admission / holding orders
