We are seeking a Principal Network Security Architect to lead the design, implementation and evolution of our enterprise network security infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the organization’s systems and data remain secure, scalable, and resilient against evolving threats. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical understanding of network security, strategic vision, and the ability to drive innovation and best practices across the organization

As a principal network security engineer, you will...

• Engineer and Design solutions :  Develop and implement enterprise-wide network security architectures, ensuring robust protection against threats while supporting business needs.
• Security Strategy and Roadmap :  Define the long-term strategy for network security, aligning with organizational goals and emerging technologies
• Threat Mitigation :  Identify, evaluate, and mitigate security risks across network infrastructures.  Lead efforts to proactively defend against evolving cyber threats.
• Collaboration and Leadership :  work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, and compliance, to integrate security solutions.  Mentor and guide network security engineers.
• Security standards development :  Create and enforce security policies, standards, and guidelines based on industry best practices and compliance requirements.
• Ability to analyze complex security problems and design integrated solutions to reduce risk, enhance protection, and strengthen the organization’s security posture
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

Deep knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection / prevention systems (IDS / IPS), Web application firewalls, and other network security tools

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge / skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
