Your Opportunity : AML / CFT Analyst
The AML & CFT Analyst plays a vital role in executing the Bank’s financial crime prevention efforts by conducting daily monitoring, research, and investigation of transactional activity. This role reviews system-generated alerts, analyzes client behavior, gathers supporting documentation, and prepares detailed Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and internal escalations when warranted. The Analyst ensures compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations while maintaining diligent documentation and timely reporting.
By providing meticulous and accurate investigative work, the Analyst strengthens the quality and reliability of the Bank’s AML control environment. Their contributions reduce financial and reputational risks, enhance regulatory confidence, and support the Bank’s ability to operate securely and responsibly. This role directly fortifies both the department and the organization by enabling informed decision-making, safeguarding client trust, and reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to maintaining a robust compliance culture.
What You’ll Do
Conduct detailed investigations and analysis of customer transactions, identifying potential money laundering, fraud, or other suspicious activities. Ensure compliance with AML / CTF laws. Responsibilities include analyzing complex data and providing insights to AML / CFT Officer.
Travel between bank branches as needed.
SAR Investigations
Conduct investigations by utilizing the bank’s resources : i.e. system software, reports, database, and system applications to determine if suspect account activity meets the established criteria for investigation of suspicious activity.
Collect, document, research and compile investigation data (e.g. media search results, copies of statements / checks, results from internal system and internet searches etc.); prepare case files for reporting.
Review monthly / quarterly cash reports for potential suspicious cash related activity.
Thoroughly document and report SAR and No-SAR investigations; obtain requisite internal approvals; ensure timely preparation and filing of reports.
Execute higher risk customer enhanced due diligence and reviews.
Investigate, prepare and file suspicious activity reports.
CDD / EDD Responsibility
Complete assigned AML / CFT software alert reviews in an accurate and timely manner.
Validate / change risk ratings based on review of KYC and CIP performed by branch personnel and report to AML / CFT Officer any deviation or change.
Utilize all resources including account transactional data, AML / CFT software metrics, alerts, historic behaviors, make determinations of irregular activity through understanding of industry norms, business types, and regulatory definitions of suspicious activity.
Document findings and support narratives in all EDD reports.
Maintain, manage and control an updated EDD log and compare to AML / CFT software reviews.
Prepare, and submit CDD / EDD reviews to AML / CFT Officer for review and sign off.
Review daily core system, AML software cash reports to identify CTR filings.
Involvement in cash vault process to maintain awareness of client base utilizing service and impact on CTR reporting.
Research and creates reports for management to respond to information requests from FinCEN and other government entities.
Monitors, inform and report to management any issues with AML / CTF software system.
Report to AML Officer monthly activity metrics.

Who You Are
Experience & Expertise
5+ years AML and / or compliance experience or equivalent
5+ years of audit or bank operations experience
10+ years of banking experience.
Current knowledge of the laws and guidance applicable to money laundering, including the 2020 AML Law, BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, US Treasury AML / CTF guidelines, FATF, and OFAC.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Report writing and strong technical skills
Sound judgment and critical thinking skills
Advanced MS Excel skills
Comprehensive understanding of general banking operations activities, products and services
Assists in special projects and tasks for the department
Good mathematics, reasoning, oral comprehension skills

Physical Demands
Requires 50% travel between regional offices to support team members, clients, and cross-functional initiatives.
