Emergency Disaster Services Coordinator

Schedule / Hours : Tue Sat 8 : 30 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m. (40 hours per week) (Exempt)

This position is responsible for :

Key Responsibilities :

Coordinates, plans, develops, and supports The Salvation Army Preparedness and Recovery efforts for Emergency Disaster Services. Supports local unit with the preparedness activities of training, volunteer recruitment, engagement, and retention, and reviewing of plans and procedures for all aspects of preparedness.

Provides comprehensive, structured, preparedness services. Develops comprehensive plans for training disaster workers and engaging volunteers. Serves as the primary representative across all agencies serving as a central-point-of-contact for The Salvation Army, Bradenton Florida Emergency Disaster Services training programs. Monitors and reports the progress of all preparedness activities for the Bradenton Area on a regular basis.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

• Work is performed in an Office, Canteen, or warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
• Physical ability to lift and carry and / or push / pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.).
• Moderate mobility : duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
