POSITION TITLE :
The Manufacturing Tech is responsible for all aspects of part number generation, database maintenance, item costing, material and part usage analysis and bills of materials.
The Manufacturing Tech ensures the day-to-day administration of part number generation, database maintenance, item costing, material and part usage analysis and quality assurance is handled efficiently and effectively by taking timely action to resolve requests, manage routine systems configuration and maintenance, respond to business questions, and perform root cause analysis of any issues.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Required Skills / Abilities :
Issue and update BOMs based on material, part and labor requirements specified by Product Development.Create part numbers, establish unit of measure and maintain BOM documentation for new material numbers, part descriptions, submittals, planning parameters and routings.Communicate and collaborate with multiple departments and locations to develop material and part plans and specifications.Review and analyze part and material data usage to validate BOMs and ERP / MRP system information.Perform material usage and scrap analysis on parts to identify root cause on material variances.Knowledge and experience of ERP / MRP systems to issue BOMs, update data, data extraction and analysis.Maintain and update project documentation, including plans, schedules and action items.Develop, execute, analyze data and write reports for validation activities.Manage and initiate projects to resolve part / labor / material variances and usage on the production floor and ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.Direct contact with sales department to assist on quotes for new parts, inventory / stock review, and make final decisions on new part issues.Collaborate with production supervisors, production leads and production associates.Support Engineering and Production projects on new part launches, problem solving, process flow, data tracking and other manufacturing related projects.Collaborate and support quality control procedures, inspections and projects implemented to meet production and quality standards.Ability to be highly customer service focused.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience :
Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPointHigher level communication and collaboration skillsOrganization and time management abilitiesManufacturing Experience preferredKeen attention to detail and problem-solving techniquesStrategic long term planning – Cross systems / locations synergiesKnowledge of purchasing, process engineering, and product engineeringKnowledge of process flow and production process procedures and standardsPhysical Requirements :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
