KBR is seeking a Senior MS SQL Database Administrator to join our Global Database team and ensure the performance, reliability, and security of enterprise database environments supporting critical business operations. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases, oversee database backup and recovery processes, and support the development and implementation of database standards across the organization. You will collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to troubleshoot issues, improve system performance, and ensure compliance with IT governance and data management policies. This position requires participation in an on-call rotation and occasional work outside normal business hours to support global operations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure to ensure system stability, availability, and performance
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of SQL Server instances, ensuring alignment with enterprise infrastructure standards
• Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions to support business continuity
• Monitor database performance and system health, proactively identifying and resolving issues related to capacity, performance, and reliability
• Manage database security, including user access controls, encryption, and audit compliance in accordance with corporate IT policies
• Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of SQL Server clustering, replication, and Always On Availability Groups
• Collaborate with infrastructure, storage, and network teams to ensure optimal database performance and system integration
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, including standard operating procedures, architecture diagrams, and configuration baselines
• Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support and respond to critical incidents affecting database operations
• Ensure adherence to IT governance, change management, and compliance standards for all database systems
• Contribute to automation, monitoring, and performance-tuning initiatives to improve database reliability and administrative efficiency
