An opportunity is available for a certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support K-12 students in a full-time contract position in Metairie, LA. This role is ideal for educators holding an active Louisiana DOE certification with experience in serving deaf and hard of hearing students across various grade levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with curriculum standards.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers to support individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and administration.
- Adhere to district policies including required health and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education teacher certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Ability to obtain and clear district-required drug screening and fingerprinting.
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
