Position : LIMHP / LMHP or Provisionally Licensed LMHP (Nebraska)

About Us :

Bettering Me Counseling Services, LLC is a Black, veteran, and LGBTQ-owned telehealth counseling practice based in Nebraska. We believe that “Bettering Me starts today, not tomorrow” and are dedicated to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care. While we are heavily trauma-focused, we also address a variety of non-trauma mental health concerns for individuals, couples, and families.

We are seeking motivated, skilled, and empathetic licensed therapists to join our growing team.

Job Description :

As a therapist with Bettering Me Counseling Services, you will provide high-quality telehealth counseling services, working with a diverse range of clients. You will create personalized treatment plans, help clients navigate challenges, and support their personal growth while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individual clients, families, and couples in identifying and clearly defining the challenges they face.
  • Utilize insights gained during counseling sessions to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop effective intervention strategies.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans to guide clients toward achieving personal goals and resolving difficulties.
  • Educate clients on the nature of their challenges while equipping them with healthier coping mechanisms and practical tools.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate clinical documentation to track client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed for optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active Nebraska license : PLMHP, LMHP, LIMHP, or LPC.
  • Malpractice insurance required once hired, before seeing clients.
  • Ability to maintain a minimum caseload of 15 clients per week.
  • Experience or interest in working with trauma-based clients preferred (not required).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.

    Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Mental Health and Psychology, with the ability to conduct detailed assessments and interventions
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing effective Treatment Plans for diverse client needs
  • Experience in Relationship Counseling and supporting clients in improving interpersonal dynamics
  • Skills in Case Management, including maintaining client records and coordinating interdisciplinary care plans
  • Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field
  • Active licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Nebraska or eligibility to obtain one
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Familiarity with teletherapy tools and remote counseling platforms is preferred but not required
