As a certified surgical technologist, you will assist in patient care throughout the perioperative experience. Your primary responsibilities will include performing scrub duties with a registered nurse, managing the sterile field and instrumentation, and preparing the operating room for surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities : Maintain a safe environment for the patient with attention to positioning, medication management, and infection prevention. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of aseptic techniques and safety protocols, including hazmat and bloodborne pathogens. Prepare and organize materials tailored to the specific needs of the patient and surgical procedure. Check and maintain all equipment, ensuring necessary instruments are in proper working order. Assist in room turnover efficiently to minimize downtime between cases. Exhibit strong clinical and technical skills in alignment with established standards of practice. Maintain performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and personal development. Complete additional duties as assigned to support optimal departmental operations. Qualifications : Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited surgical technology program required; CPR certification required. Experience : Preferred experience in an operating room setting. Licensure : BLS certification required. Special Skills : National certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
