Senior Staff Designer

Gibbs and Cox is seeking a Solidworks Designer to join our organization.

Location : Newport News VA

As a member of our highly collaborative multidisciplinary Ship Design team you will be responsible for producing & checking detailed 3D models and 2D Assembly drawings extractions using requirements documents specifications standards and regulatory body requirements as defined in the requirements section below. Essential responsibilities and activities include but are not limited to :

Primary Responsibilities

• Utilize Solidworks to develop detailed 3D models for mechanical and piping systems based on Functional Drawings and / or cognizant engineering guidance or from redlines associated with change paper.
• Develop 2D drawings extractions in Solidworks applying GD&T requirements suitable for production work packages.
• Develop / create standard parts from concept sketches photographs clearly stated functional requirements or vendor provided information.
• Working closely with our clients engineering groups to produce high quality detail design products and drawings.

Pay Range :

Pay Range $50050.00 - $90475.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job education experience knowledge skills and abilities as well as internal equity alignment with market data applicable bargaining agreement (if any) or other law.
