Duties & Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering
Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports
Prepare electrical schematic designs
Design Engineering
Design power single line and riser diagrams
Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP / SKM
Select lighting fixtures and power equipment
Perform lighting and power circuiting
Design and coordinate the lighting control system
Prepare fire alarm device layouts based on International Fire Code and NFPA 72
Design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operations
Prepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and details
Understand and utilize CAD / BIM standards
Apply California Electrical Code and Energy Standards for medium and low voltage systems
Coordinate among mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural teams
Edit project specifications
Project Management
Manage multiple large-scale projects involving other senior engineers and sub-consultants
Provide mentorship to design engineers
Prepare proposals independently for clients
Actively develop business with new and existing clients
Construction Administration
Review and respond to RFIs
Review equipment submittals
Perform punch walks and prepare punch list reports
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Licenses
Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
Registered Professional Engineer license preferred
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience
Able to lead electrical design projects and manage a team of design engineers
Demonstrated project management skills
Skills & Technical Knowledge
Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP / SKM, and Revit
Familiarity with HCAI requirements
Self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
Salary, Benefits, & Schedule
Hybrid schedule : 3 days in-office / 2 days remote
Salary : $120,000$150,000
