The UCI Underground Scholars Initiative's aim is to outreach to and increase retention rates of formerly incarcerated UCI students by connecting them with resources and information that will help students' prospects of success.

Your Role on the Team

Reporting to the Program Director of Underground Scholars, the Program Coordinator develops programmatic activities and provides advising support to the students engaged in the Underground Scholars program at UC Irvine.This includes working with students by implementing the recruitment, retention, advocacy, and wellness pillars of the Underground Scholars Program. Implementation of the four pillars will consist of engaging in, but not limited to written and in-person communication with incarcerated and formerly-incarcerated students in California to assist them with navigating the University of California undergraduate application process and organizing recruitment events on and off campus that are tailored to formerly-incarcerated and system-impacted students. This position also works closely with the Program Director to develop and maintain relationships with surrounding community colleges, UCI Undergraduate admissions, and other campus supporters.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.53-$29.00 (Hourly).
