Position Overview :
This is the perfect role for someone who is highly organized, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow in their sales career. You will support the business development and sales team to ensure we have outstanding follow through and consistency with opportunity and bidding process needs.
The Inside Sales Admin works as part of the Sales and Marketing team with both existing and prospective customers by leveraging marketing initiatives, managing leads, qualifying prospects and closing sales to increase revenue of our products and services.
The goal of this position will be to learn the DOD industry and sales process and progress towards a career path in DOD sales and / or marketing based on your skillsets, goals, and demonstration of growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate and execute opportunities to supply products, services and capabilities to both existing and prospective customers.
- Conduct outbound calls to new contacts, both those provided by marketing activities (email, site registrations, trade show leads, etc.) and by the Inside Sales Rep's own efforts, to expand the customer base.
- Learn our product ecosystem and how it fits within the industry and needs of the DOD and the warfighters on the front lines.
- Work with Marketing & Sales teams to help organize and support seminars, workshops, trainings, and technical meetings.
- Create and maintain customer records within the designated systems (e.g., Salesforce CRM) to track customer contacts, buying preferences, and other key data.
- Work with internal functions such as marketing, logistics, and accounting to provide a seamless, high quality customer experience while growing the business.
- Handle inbound requests for proposals, bids, and documentation / compliance needs.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge
Experience with DOD purchasing process and systemsStrong proficiency in MS software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Salesforce CRM and Syspro experience is a plus.Familiarity with a variety of sales concepts, practices, and procedures.Attributes
Excellent communication skills, including writing, articulating, listening, and questioning skills required. Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the company and in a variety of disciplines regarding military, public safety, and industrial principles and practices.The ability to effectively shift priorities and work at a rapid pace required (great planning and time management).
