  • Unit Overview :

    Join our dynamic 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit treating a diverse range of patients. You will care for individuals including :

  • Post-operative patients from craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.
  • Patients undergoing cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.
  • Stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.
  • Patients requiring medical overflow care.

  • Provide evidence-based patient care by utilizing the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Exercise clinical judgment and strong communication skills to enhance the patient experience.

  • Major Responsibilities :

  • Assess patient needs and develop personalized care plans.
  • Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and modify care as necessary.
  • Implement strategies aimed at patient safety and risk reduction.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and utilize evidence-based practices.
  • Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes to refine processes.
  • Demonstrate leadership within the care team and delegate effectively.

  • Licensure, Registration, and Certification Required :

  • Registered Nurse license in your practicing state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Education Required :

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • Experience Required :

  • Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

  • Ability to provide holistic patient care and adapt to changing situations.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in communication, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Skills in teamwork, collaboration, and patient-centered decision-making.
  • Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

  • Must be able to engage in physical tasks frequently throughout the workday, including lifting and transferring patients.
  • Exposure to various medical conditions, requiring protective equipment as necessary.
