Department : Geriatric Psych Nrsng Unit

Shift Timings : 19 : 00 - 07 : 30 Monday to Friday 3 days 12-hour shift

Per Week : 36 Hours

Unit description : 25 patients, 5 : 1 ratios, CNA's present as well. Typical patients are over 65 with cognitive delays, dementia, and / or anxiety and depressive disorders. Medical needs may include minor wound care, incontinence, basic IV fluids (no drips), No suctioning, no blood transfusions. We have behavioral health trained security, a panic button system, hospital code teams, and Ascom phone systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.

Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
