Junior Tax Planner
Aston Carter is working with a great client who is looking to hire a Junior Tax Planner. The company offers Fridays off in the summer, 100% employer paid premium cost of medical / dental / vision, 401k match and much more! A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of tax preparation experience is required. Responsibilities include participating in client tax planning meetings, focusing on existing client maintenance and follow-up. Support planners in transitioning client relationships while building trust and rapport with clients. Assist with tax planning strategies that align with broader wealth management objectives. Prepare and review client tax returns and filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Conduct research on tax strategies, compliance requirements, and industry best practices. Collaborate with advisors and tax leadership to deliver integrated client solutions. Engage in business development activitiesnurture leads, contribute to closing conversations, and help grow the firm's client base. Proactively identify opportunities to add value to client relationships and upsell additional planning services.
Essential Skills include technical tax knowledge, interpersonal and consultative skills, 2+ years of professional tax experience, preferably at a CPA Firm or financial services company, natural sales aptitude, and consistent employment history with 2+ years at one firm.
Additional Skills & Qualifications include Enrolled Agent or CPA eligibility preferred and experience in tax planning and financial services.
This is a permanent position based out of Lenexa, KS. The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00 / yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
