Technical Onboarding & Development Manager - Onsite
About the role
The Technical Onboarding and Development Manager helps employees confidently use the organizations technology by leading technical onboarding, delivering practical software training, and supporting teams through system updates. They meet users at their skill level and create training thats clear, useful, and approachable. The Manager works closely with attorneys, staff, and internal teams to ensure a smooth, consistent tech experience across the firm.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify training needs across the firm, including new hires, people moving into new roles, and anyone affected by new software or IT changes.
- Create and maintain a clear, user-friendly training program with live, virtual, and self-paced options. Keep training materials and documentation up to date and easy to access.
- Build strong relationships with teams to ensure training supports real needs. Track learning progress, adjust training when needed, and keep the end-user experience at the center of all decisions.
- Maintain a helpful knowledge base, educate staff on updates, and ensure procedures are followed. Monitor training completion and report on effectiveness.
- Review support tickets and user feedback to spot trends and opportunities for better training or process improvements. Partner with IT and vendors to suggest usability enhancements.
- Plan and run beta tests and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure new software works smoothly before rollout.
- Support and guide the Training Coordinator with ongoing coaching and feedback.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in education, communications, or a related field - or equivalent experience with 710 years in software training, instructional design, or end-user support. Law firm experience is desirable.Strong technical knowledge of business and legal software, with experience delivering in-person, virtual, and one-on-one training.Excellent communicator and facilitator who can make training engaging and approachable for all levels.Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to discretion and client service.Comfortable using a mix of modern and traditional training methods and managing multiple priorities effectively.Benefits
