Director of Underwriting

A company is looking for a Director of Underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the underwriting team by personally underwriting large and complex group cases

Mentor and develop a team of underwriters while establishing underwriting guidelines and processes

Collaborate with Sales and other departments to support new business growth and manage underwriting performance

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience in group underwriting within health insurance or healthcare-related financial services

Proven ability to lead a team while directly underwriting complex cases

Deep knowledge of group underwriting methodologies and healthcare cost drivers

Executive presence with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills

Bachelor's degree
