Accounting Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a company in North Phoenix who is in need of an accounting specialist/staff accountant to join their team for the next 12 months. This job is Monday-Friday fully onsite. The hourly rate is up to 30/hr DOE.

This role will support the accounting team with daily financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a structured environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain and reconcile GL accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data within the GL
• Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
• Support internal and external audits as needed
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper financial reporting
• Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Prior experience in an accounting or finance role preferred
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

Pay Details: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour
