Java Mainframe Developer

Overview

GovCIO is seeking a talented Java Mainframe Developer to contribute to the maintenance, updates, and remediation of mission-critical applications supporting the DCSA background investigation processes. While legacy / mainframe experience is not mandatory, candidates should be enthusiastic about learning these technologies. This role will also involve providing architecture, development, and cybersecurity support for the High Value Assets (HVAs) pertaining to the background investigation system. The position can be performed remotely.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), specifically within Background Information Systems (BIS), Case Processing, and other background investigation systems. Your contributions will involve :

• Designing and coding applications according to specifications using appropriate tools.
• Maintaining and modifying existing software applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Analyzing systems factors, including input / output requirements and information flow, to address problem resolutions effectively.
• Updating operational programs and procedures as necessary.
• Participating in code reviews to uphold standards and quality assurance.
• Writing and revising program documentation, operational documentation, and user guides in accordance with established standards.
• Resolving software problems and responding to suggestions for improvements.
• Collaborating as a team member on various projects.

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

Bachelor's degree with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills and Experience :

Clearance Required : Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a TS Security Clearance.

Posted Salary Range : USD $82,000.00 - USD $95,000.00 per year.

This position is fully remote, and work can be based from anywhere in the U.S.
