MTSS Coordinator

Detroit Community Schools is hiring a full time MTSS Coordinator.  Must have Michigan teacher certification and endorsement in the subject.

Responsibilities :

1. Deliver high-quality instruction and interventions aligned with MTSS program addressing the academic needs of the student.

2. Work with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to create and ensure appropriate academic interventions for struggling students.

3. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, adjust interventions, and guide instructional decisions. Facilitate data reviews and oversee placement of students into appropriate Tier 2 / Tier 3 Interventions.

4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes for MTSS meetings.

5. Collaborate with and educate families to ensure effective communication and involve them in the intervention process.

6. Participate in ongoing training related to MTSS best practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Michigan Teacher certification.
• Reading Specialist endorsement, special education, or area related to academic intervention preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge base in scientifically based reading research, best practices, and instructional techniques.
