We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a growing team. You will be the primary day-to-day service contact and trusted advisor for a dedicated book of commercial accounts, to deliver service and risk management solutions to clients in the Accounting, Architecture & Engineering, Environmental Services, Law, and Technology sectors. This is an ideal role for an Account Manager who thrives on managing complex, professional-level risks and who values a collaborative, flexible work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Management : Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned book of specialized commercial accounts, maintaining a high level of client satisfaction and retention through proactive communication and superior service.
- Renewal & Marketing : Manage the entire renewal process, including gathering updated information, preparing comprehensive coverage specifications, marketing risks to appropriate carriers, negotiating terms, and presenting solutions to the client.
- Risk Consultation : Act as a risk management resource for clients, leveraging PCIA's training offerings (webinars, podcast insights) to help clients understand and mitigate their unique exposures, particularly in Professional, Cyber, and Liability lines.
- Policy & Documentation : Accurately process new policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations. Issue certificates of insurance, prepare summaries, and maintain meticulous client records within the agency management system.
- Expertise : Utilize your technical knowledge across a broad range of commercial lines, including GL, Property, Auto, Umbrella, Workers' Comp, Professional Liability (E&O, D&O, EPLI), and Cyber.
- Carrier Relations : Maintain strong working relationships with our industry-leading carriers to ensure the best coverage and pricing for our clients.
Qualifications & Experience
License : Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license is required .Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager within an independent agency setting.Book of Business : Proven experience managing a diverse book of commercial accounts, including mid-to-large-sized clients. Experience with complex risks in Professional Service, Construction, Manufacturing, or Logistics is a strong advantage.Technical Proficiency : Strong knowledge of complex commercial coverages and forms, including specialty lines like Cyber and Professional Liability.Systems Proficiency : Experience with agency management systems is highly desirable (e.g., Epic, Applied Management System, AMS360, or Guidewire ). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.Designations : Progress toward or completion of professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, or ARM is a significant plus.Skills : Exceptional verbal and written communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. Target Compensation : $85,000 - $115,000+ (Based on experience, designations, and expertise in complex accounts).
