Role Overview :

We are seeking a Chicago-based contractor with strong embedded Linux and hardware troubleshooting expertise. This person will audit our current Linux / Hardware configuration, diagnose recurring reliability issues, and implement improvements to reduce on-site service needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Audit existing Linux / embedded systems setup across our company.

Diagnose and resolve recurring reliability issues such as :

Touchscreen freezing

USB device connectivity issues (, card readers dropping)

Unexpected computer crashes

Recommend and implement improvements for system stability and uptime.

Establish more robust remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and recovery processes.

Provide best-practice guidance for long-term embedded systems reliability.

Qualifications :

Strong expertise in Linux / embedded systems engineering.

Experience troubleshooting hardware / software integration issues (touchscreens, USB devices, peripherals).

Background in remote monitoring, recovery solutions, and system reliability engineering.

Ability to quickly diagnose problems and recommend practical solutions in a production environment.
