Field Service Technician

ElitAire Service is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician with proven expertise in air-cooled chillers and advanced commercial systems. This full-time, union position offers stable, long-term work through Local 189 and is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in technical excellence, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

The Senior Technician will play a key role in performing complex service, repair, and commissioning work on a variety of commercial HVAC systems while upholding ElitAire's commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities :

• Service, maintain, and repair air-cooled chillers, water cooled chillers, rooftop units, VRV / VRF systems, split systems, and pumps.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and root-cause troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Execute system start-ups, commissioning, and testing per manufacturer and customer specifications.
• Document all service activities accurately, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance reports.
• Collaborate closely with Service Management, Account Executives, and customers to schedule and complete work efficiently.
• Mentor and support junior technicians in proper procedures, safety, and technical skills.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours service requests when required.
• Maintain tools, company vehicle, and equipment in professional working condition.
• Follow all company safety policies and Local 189 standards.

Qualifications & Experience :

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Proven expertise with air-cooled chillers - Daikin experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and controls.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Proficient in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and system documentation.
• Skilled in the use of digital gauges, recovery systems, and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in the field

• This is a Permanent position based out of Westerville, OH.
• Pay and Benefits
• The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00 / yr.

This is an hourly paid role. Direct placement. $43-54 / hr depending on experience paid from union. ElitAire can pay $2-3 / hr on top of this for the right candidate.

Guaranteed raise of $4 / hr for the next 2 years. ElitAire pays fringe benefits on top of hourly pay.
