Job Description
Client is seeking a compassionate skilled Special Education Teacher to lead a substantially separate classroom serving students in Pre-K through 1st grade with moderate to severe disabilities. This role is ideal for educators with strong experience in behavior support discrete trial instruction and collaborative service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting academic and social-emotional goals
- Integrate and reinforce skills from PT OT and speech therapy sessions
- Collaborate with the BCBA to develop and execute discrete trial programs
- Oversee daily data collection and monitor student progress toward skill mastery
- Coordinate with the BCBA to identify and advance next-step learning targets
- Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals during student non-compliance
- Modify lessons to meet diverse learning needs and physical accommodations
Classroom Environment
Self-contained classroom with 1 : 1 paraprofessional support for each studentStudents may use wheelchairs and require substantial physical supportDaily prep period and weekly collaboration time with service providersStrong emphasis on team-based instruction and therapeutic integrationQualifications
