Job Duties

• Evaluate patient dental health and requirements through screening protocols including reviewing medical history performing dental and periodontal charting
• Provide direct hygiene care following standard dental hygienist protocols
• Measure and record patient vital signs
• Conduct standard procedures such as prophylaxis and polishing
• Capture diagnostic radiographs as directed by the dentist
• Apply preventive agents including sealants and fluoride treatments
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records
• Document patient dental history and primary complaint
• Record and communicate relevant clinical findings
• Educate patients on preventing caries and periodontal disease via nutrition and effective home care
• Clean disinfect and sterilize dental instruments
• Prepare and complete treatment plans as outlined by the dentist
• Present treatment plans and associated costs to patients
• Relay patient questions and concerns to the dentist
• Serve as lead treatment coordinator
• Perform additional tasks as assigned
