Title: Construction Inspector
Location: Chicago, Bannockburn, or Rockford, IL
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Compensation: $36.00 - $46.00/hour
Bonus: Minimum 2% of salary plus overtime pay, paid at year-end. Final amount varies based on experience, individual, and company performance.
Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance - PTO - 401(k) Match (Dollar-for-dollar up to 5%) - Additional 4% company contribution if annual goals are met - Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) eligibility after 3 years

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform daily on-site inspections of infrastructure construction projects
  • Monitor contractor work for compliance with plans, specs, and safety standards
  • Document project progress through logs, reports, photos, and meeting notes
  • Communicate regularly with contractors, residents, businesses, and agency reps
  • Track labor, materials, and equipment usage to support change order review
  • Review pay applications and verify completed work
  • Resolve field issues and recommend cost-effective solutions
  • Serve as liaison between municipalities and contractors, addressing public concerns
  • Coordinate closely with project engineers and superintendents
What We're Looking For:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in construction inspection or public works oversight
  • Strong knowledge of underground utilities, roadway, and municipal infrastructure
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel within the Chicago/Naperville/Rockford area as needed
