[job_card.job_description]Oversee daily accounting operations across multiple properties : GL, AP / AR, reconciliations, and cash management Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports Monitor property budgets, perform variance analysis, and ensure timely reporting to ownership and investors Manage Yardi accounting functions and ensure data integrity across properties and entities Coordinate and support annual audits, tax filings, and lender compliance reviews Ensure ongoing compliance with affordable housing and LIHTC regulations Supervise and develop accounting staff, promoting accuracy, accountability, and professional growth Lead initiatives to improve accounting systems, internal controls, and process efficiency ?? We're seeking an Assistant Controller to join a high-growth Property Management firm specializing in affordable housing communities . In this pivotal role, your financial expertise will directly support the company's mission to provide quality, affordable homes while maintaining operational excellence and compliance.
This is an ideal next step for an accounting professional with strong Yardi and property management accounting experience who is ready to take on a leadership role within a dynamic, purpose-driven organization.
What We're Looking For :
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in property management or affordable housing accounting
- Yardi proficiency required – experience with Yardi Voyager or similar modules is essential
- Strong knowledge of affordable housing programs, LIHTC compliance, HUD, and related reporting requirements
- CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)
- Experience supervising or mentoring accounting team members
- Solid understanding of GAAP, property-level financial reporting, cash management, and budget variance analysis
