Perform a full nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admissionDevelop individualized plans of care and identify teaching goalsProvide patient status updates for initial and weekly team conferencesEnsure accurate, timely medical record documentationDeliver direct patient care using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate)Educate patients / families to support rehabilitation goalsBegin discharge planning from day of admissionCommunicate changes in patient status to physicians and charge nursesSeek guidance for complex clinical decisionsSupervise and delegate appropriately to LPNs, CNAs, and other support personnelEnsure personal and environmental safetyContribute to a positive, team-focused unit environmentCommunicate unit needs (supplies, equipment, repairs, training) to leadershipProvide cost-effective care and monitor supply usageAssume charge nurse duties after orientationPursue professional development and continuing educationPrioritize tasks effectively to meet patient needsPerform additional duties as assignedRequirements Experience
