Lead Payroll Coordinator

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for a Payroll Lead to be the right-hand person to their Payroll Manager. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being hands-on with payroll but also wants to step into more of a leadership / support position. You’ll help run multi-state payroll for a large employee group, support system changes, and make sure payroll ties out correctly on the accounting side.

What You’ll Do

Take the lead on processing payroll for 2,000–2,500 employees across all 50 states.

Handle multiple payroll groups (weekly and bi-weekly) and make sure everything is accurate and on time.

Be the go-to support for the Payroll Administrator and step in when issues need an extra set of eyes.

Work with the Payroll Manager on projects such as an ERP transition.

Help make sure payroll journal entries are accurate and tie into the accounting system.

Jump in on process improvements, tech upgrades, and ways to make payroll smoother for everyone.

What We’re Looking For

Solid experience running multi-state, full-cycle payroll.

Comfortable supporting a large employee base (1,500+).

Tech savvy, with strong Excel skills a big plus.

Understanding of payroll-related accounting (knowing what debits and credits should look like).

CPP is great to have, but not a dealbreaker if you don’t.
